style notes: for 2013

hey, i still believe in new year's resolutions. in spite of those that manage to get away by February.

here are mine:
*i've been in the mood recently for a more feminin set of pieces that will complement my existing wardrobe. subtle additions rather than sea changes.

what are your life / style resolutions?

  1. mmm this all sounds so good. i'm still not quite sure what my style resolutions will be this year...maybe moving away from pure 100% basic pieces.

  2. I know target and Bed Bath Beyond sell those TSA kits for considerably cheaper. As for fashion resolutions my main one is to spend/buy less clothing. Really I'm pretty set as far as needs AND WANTS, that I'd rather buy jewelry and even then I'd still be spending less on fashion purchases annually than in the past.

    2. I recommend the Go-Toob line from Humangear. No more trying desperately to shake the product out of non-squeezable plastic bottles! And they come in several sizes; I find I don't need more than 1-2oz of most things, even on long (2+ week) trips.

  3. I have a few professional goals I want to achieve this year, so I expect to be much busier than last year (and if this month is any indication, it's going to be a hectic twelve months!)
On a personal note, I want to be more forthright in all my dealings, apologise less and negotiate better :)
On the style front, I would like to worry less, buy less, enjoy what I already own or purchase without guilt and follow my instinct. I don't intend to give up making lists but I want to be less caught up in the act of adding to my wardrobe. It feels pretty complete at the moment.

  4. Hmm...you've made me think. I've never had style resolutions other than a wish list that I hope to tick off. I tend to edit my wardrobe every other month to get rid of clutter which is a must especially as we're living in a small flat. We had a larger place in NZ but we managed to fill the "guest room" with so much junk. It was a nightmare to clear out. Never again. As for life, I'd like to take more risks, be more fearless and step out of my comfort zone. I have little goals or milestones to aim for.

  5. Good luck with your resolutions - I would find reading a book a week extremely difficult, just because I need absolute silence and usually have my bf at home who likes to have TV on in the background! I need to do a further wardrobe edit, I started at the beginning of the year but there is always room for improvement I suppose!

  6. Tossing out files.....I'm totally in the same boat! It sure is a nice feeling, though, after completing that chore.

  7. Good luck with your resolutions! I have several professional goals to check off this year. And one of them was already achieved and it's only January. I'm ecstatic! In terms of style, I would just like to stay the course. I really appreciate everything that I buy, so it's a joy to pull things from my closet that I love. I'm good about not settling, knowing what works for me and following my instincts when it comes to shopping.
