the gift guide: gentleman edition

gentlemanly with a side of cumberbatch

one of my favorite things about the holidays is gift-shopping for loved ones, and there's nothing quite as fun (and just a bit challenging) as shopping for the man in your life.

i quite like the idea of the modern gentleman – tailored and principled when necessary, but always with a generous dose of wry humor. this gift guide is dedicated to boyfriends / best man friends / husbands everywhere.

for more ideas, east dane has some great picks in their gift boutique with two-day shipping for prime members.

what do you think? are you shopping for a special gentleman?

  1. Ahh, lovely ideas! The main man in my life is getting a midnight blue Eastpak holdall for the gym and some aftershave, and a cheesy driving CD for his new car.

  4. Between the gentleman, my dad, his dad, my two brothers and his two brothers I feel like it's a never ending search for mens gifts. The good thing is I've cracked the code:) And yes to the Best Buy Gift card;)

My favorite gifts for the gentleman is a certificate for an appointment to Martin Greenfield for bespoke suits and shirts. Is it cheating that we both equally love seeing him work? Not to mention that the finished products are amazing. I always stuff his stocking with Art of Shaving Products, but I may throw in some Harry's as well. Every year we exchange
first edition copies on Christmas Eve. It's always fun to figure out what he's had his eye on throughout the year and a bit of a friendly competition.

    1. lindsay i was thinking of you when i did this post! a tailor date with the esteemed MG sounds heavenly. i have a rag & bone jacket by him back when they did manufacturing there, it's exquisitely made. and i LOVE your tradition of first editions on christmas eve - i may have to come up with a new 'tradition' myself this year.
