spring mood: palette cleanser

mood snapshot as we get into March: currently craving the sartorial equivalent of a palette cleanser. maybe it has something to do with my Marie Kondo reading, maybe it's the hint of spring balminess this week. also rediscovering the clean cropped line of my old everlane box tees after forgetting about them in the bottom of my dresser drawer for a while. does that ever happen to you?

what are you in the mood for lately?

  1. Definitely color for me! After realizing I'd "streamlined" my wardrobe color palette to ALL neutrals, I'm craving some actual color again in the form of pink, coral, bright yellow, electric blue... I'm willing to try out anything at this point. I'm also attempting to branch out from all jeans all the time and am trying to rotate in some skirts every now and then.

  2. Totally know what you mean. I love your palette cleansing pics. For my part, I've been obsessing over Jesse Kamm's spring/summer 2016 look book: http://jessekamm.com/JKSS16_E-LOOKBOOK_WEB.pdf. Her high flash, low-maintenance Cali glam vision is exactly what I want right now. Maybe it's the rich colors or the flattering shapes. Whatever it is, I'm on board.

  3. I think you mean "palate" cleanser? :) But in your case it may work to clean the "palette" as well!

  5. Shoes, shoes, and more shoes! I am loving The Palatines block heels, Freda Salvador's D'Orsay flats, Fortress of Inca flats and slip-ons...There are just so many good ones out there this spring.

  7. No precise ideas yet, I'm a bit too overwhelmed by what's new in to figure out what I want/need, I got new boots and a mid-season knit already so I need to cool it off and take a step back before more damages ensue.

  8. i decided to dress more nicely at work, but I don't have spring shoes for my skirts, so I'm deciding on a new pair of clog slides or sandals. Also interested in a different color palette of blush, coral, and tans, and cropped wide legged pants. I ordered a pair of Jesse Kamm sailor pants in Cunningham blue. I hope they're as good on me as they seem to be on everyone else!

  9. Losing an hour of sleep to Daylight Savings was tough, but it's nice getting out of work and have it light outside. That little change makes me a bit more energetic. Hopefully the energy translates to my upcoming closet clean out! It's not even me outgrowing certain styles anymore, I think I've figured out what I like to wear by now, but it's literally outgrowing things - not that I'm gaining much weight, but maybe it's just age, fat cells are shuffling, body's changing, etc., but some things don't fit right anymore! I think I might take a look at my loose 'boyfriend' jeans again, thankfully they survived previous closet purges, after two seasons of wearing skinny jeans almost exclusively.

  10. I am definitely in the mood for serious neutrals and laid back silhouettes reinforced with some pops of navy, olive or copper on my eyelids. Vintage denim is my fluid love tho.

    Much love from blog.moiminnie.com x

  11. The Didion tee is soooo right. I bought one in Navy and grey, still yearning to get the white one, too.
