lookbook: European summer vacation edition

a few outfit postcards from my travels //

relaxing before my friend's wedding in Malaga: tkees (on sale!) + trio crossbody // trinas + trio dressed up at the wedding reception //
breton + trio + saltwaters in Paris at the Musee d'Orsay // saltwaters and small leather duffel at Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin

we were only in Paris for a minute, but i finally met up with the lovely Aissa and we talked late into the night over gelato and drinks. we then spent the remainder of our time seeing old friends and sightseeing around Berlin. i have to say, i can totally see myself living in Prenzlauer Berg...

what's your favorite city in the world? have you traveled anywhere lately?

  1. Paris and San Francisco are my two favorites. There are so many that I haven't had the chance to visit. One of these days!

  2. Lovely looks. I love the pop of red on your toes- I'm all about the classic red pedicure.

I'm jealous of you and Aissa's gelato and drinks date. That sounds so perfect.

Paris and New York are my favorites. I have a sweet spot for Vienna and Prague.

I'm impressed by people like you who remain incredibly chic while traveling and being tourists.
Amsterdam and Québec city are my favorites and I'd love to go up North to visit Stockholm or completely West to NYC and San Francisco.

  6. Hurrah to staying chic while travelling!

Tough question - but I never tire of London, Paris or Berlin. But Budapest still wins as THE place that completely captured my imagination as a traveller.

  7. Gorgeous photos! And I second Lindsay on the red pedicure. Just perfect.
I am long overdue for a break and will be taking four trips (split between work and fun) next month - Kerala, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok. Looking forward to it!

  8. Oh those printed pants! I'm in love. Glad to hear you had a nice time, and so cool you were able to meet up with Aissa!

PS: Thanks for the heads up about the Emerson Fry sale. Sosososo excited to get my flatforms (in orange) in the mail. Must make use of these waning days of summer to wear them before it's too cold!

  9. Oops I forgot to answer your question! I haven't done as much traveling as others, but I'd say my favorites are Washington, DC (everything's so connected and something's always going on, but the pace is also slower than cities like NYC) and Havana (for visiting at least because it's so beautiful and filled with history >.<). And of course there's always a soft spot for my hometown (Portland, OR).

  10. I hope you'll tell us more about your trip! My favorite cities to visit are Barcelona, Tokyo, and, like Human Racing, my (sort of) hometown, Portland, OR.

  11. You look very chic and comfortable at the same time!
I've come to realize that I dont't have to give up fashion
when traveling as long as I choose the right pair of shoes.

Would you mind me asking about the sizing on the saltwater sandals?
On the website, it says to size down by 1.5 to 2 and since I'm a 6.5,
would the size 5 work well for me?
Thanks in advance. I've been wanting them for so long after I saw them
on your blog and am on the verge of ordering one.

    1. hi Katie - i just looked at my sandals and they're marked a 4 (guessing that's a unisex sizing) and women's 6, so seems like sizing down by half for the women's size is the way to go. hope that helps!
